Termites In Connecticut

Termites In Connecticut – Termites can be a real problem here in Connecticut. Generally speaking, if you have a termite problem it is going to be subterranean termites.

Subterranean termites can be insidious and extremely difficult to find, as they naturally hide their damage and tunnels to avoid predators. So how can you tell if you have a termite problem?

First, look for what are called mud tubes. They are one of the easiest things to spot. After that, try to see if they have left any damage that is visible (although it is often rare to be able to see their damage). Many people, even experienced pest control operators, mistake carpenter ant damage for termite damage. The main difference is that carpenter ants keep their tunnels very clean, whereas termites pack in “frass” into their tunnels.
