Home Inspections In the Winter – Let’s just say that they are not as enjoyable in the winter as they are in the summer. But a home inspection in the winter has several advantages.
For one, the cold tends to move the house and stress it in ways that are not typical and can show many different construction defects that are otherwise not visible in the warmer seasons.
Also, as the snow melts it tests to the max anything that may leak. It is also a good time of year to help find areas that are prone to ice damming.
This winter has been pretty mild overall, but with a big storm coming and lots of snow, keep in mind that it is still a great time of year to have a home inspection.
