Missing electrical panel screws are something that I often find on home inspections. Why is that even something that I mention though? Besides bonding, electric panel cover screws serve important functions.
First of all, they hold the cover on. There are some panels where you walk up to them and they only have two screws in them. Depending on the weight/type of cover this can be a hazard.
Also, when the panel cover screws are missing, the gaps in the sides can let critters in. You can use your imagination with how much damage a mouse can do. So be sure that your panel cover screws are properly secured.
