Dormers – If you have them you know what they do… leak. Well, not every dormer, and not all the time, but they do have a tendency toward it. Whenever I am inspecting a home with dormers, that is one of the first places that I go to check for leaks.
Especially on newer homes is this an issue, ones that were built during the housing boom. Builders were trying to rush through houses to meet their orders, and they often hired inexperienced help. So if you are buying a house with dormers, pay special attention to those areas.
