Recycled Denim Insulation
Denim insulation has been getting more and more popular here in Connecticut, and for good reason. In fact, it is not uncommon to see home listings advertising that they have recycled denim insulation. But why is it so popular? Here are just three of the many reasons so many people like it so much:

  1. It is easy to work with and is not itchy. For most, that doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for a home inspector who crawls around in it each day it is a huge plus.

  2. It is great for sound proofing. It actually has an acoustical rating that is about 30% higher than most other insulation, which keeps your house quieter.

  3. It is 85% recycled. So that old pair of blue jeans that you threw out and was headed for the dump could have actually ended up in someone’s attic.

But as always, cost is a factor, and the cost of denim insulation is no laughing matter. In fact, it is about twice as much as other insulation.
