None of us really want to talk about it, but Fall is here… and winter is right around the corner. And with winter comes the heating season. One thing we wanted to remind our clients of is to maintain your chimney. Here are a few simple things you can do over the next month to prepare for the heating season:
Make sure your chimney has a proper flue cap on it to keep rain and snow out
Take a look in the attic and make sure there is no leaking around the chimney – the winter weather will only make those leaks worse
Sweep your chimney (or have it swept by a professional)
Have a professional chimney sweep check for cracks and do a level 2 chimney inspection.
